Our Story

Transportation Compliance Service (previously DOT Compliance Services LLC), was founded in 2012 near Boise, Idaho by industry veterans Jeff Minert, and his father David, to provide trucking companies with the expert consultation, administrative and management services to easily navigate complicated federal and state regulations.

Since then, TCS has remained family-owned and operated, while successfully assisting over 150,000 existing and start-up companies – meet, manage, and/or maintain – federal and state compliance.

Today with a trustworthy team of the most experienced industry specialists, TCS has grown into one of North America’s leading providers of commercial transportation compliance services.

Our Team

Jeff Minert,
Founder & President

Jeff founded Transportation Compliance Services with his father David in 2012 near Boise, Idaho.

Prior to TCS, he amassed a 20+ year career at Minert & Associates in Meridian, Idaho where he began working specifically in drug and alcohol testing for trucking companies, and then assisting trucking and transportation companies comply with federal and state safety regulations.

Outside of work, the graduate of Boise State University, enjoys golfing, mountain biking, and snowboarding.

Ryan Bunnell,

VP of Operations

Ryan joined TCS in 2013, serving as VP since 2015.

His career started in the Idaho National Guard, and in 2003, he was deployed to Iraq as a rescue firefighter, training and facilitating airport rescue operations with the US Military and Iraqi Nationals. Ryan became an officer in the Army Transportation Corp. working in logistics and safety, conducting training sessions on load securement and vehicle operation.

Off duty, Ryan enjoys camping, mountain biking, and dirt biking.

Aaron Smith,
VP of Compliance

Since joining TCS in 2017, Aaron has successfully overseen a growing team focused on helping, existing, and start-up, trucking and transportation companies navigate federal and state compliance regulations – allowing them to stay focused on the road.

After graduating from the College of Idaho in 2001, he spent 17 years gaining valuable work experience in the medical insurance field.

Aaron enjoys camping with his family, boating, mountain biking, and golf.
